Jo Chambers
Community Connector
Active Lakenheath
My name is Jo Chambers and I am one half of the Community Connector team, along with Rich Keeble. You might also see me around the village, as I am the manager at the Library, so I'm usually around and about.
Before I worked for the library, I was a Primary School Teacher for 23 years in Essex and Suffolk. I am married and have 2 teenage sons and a dog. In my spare time, I love to read (funny that!) going the Theatre and working with clay and painting.
I have loved finding about the opinions of people in the village. It is a privilege to be trusted with your opinions and for people to feel confident that they will be passed on to create the data we need. There are trends emerging which will inform the next stage of the process - the proposal writing. I am excited to be part of this venture and hope it will be of benefit to the people of Lakenheath for now and for the future too. Any time you want to share your views, pop to the library or email me.

Rich Keeble
Community Connector
Active Lakenheath
My name is Rich Keeble, and I'm one of the Community Connectors for the Active Lakenheath Project, working alongside Jo Chambers. You'll often find me around the village—chatting with residents, running local sessions, or just checking in with people to see how things are going.
My role is all about encouraging people to get more active—not just physically, but in how they connect with others, take part in community life, and look after their own wellbeing. It's been great hearing from people in Lakenheath about what matters to them. Your feedback is helping shape the next stage of the project, and I'm excited to see where it leads. If you've got something to share, want to get involved, or just fancy a chat—I'm always happy to connect.
I also lead the charity EPIC Dad, which supports fathers and families in Lakenheath and across West Suffolk. I run activities such as dads and children's clubs, Lego clubs, family events, parenting courses, and wellbeing drop-in's. My various community work gives me a real understanding of the everyday challenges people face—and how small, practical steps can make a big difference.
