Active Lakenheath is a community-led initiative designed to help residents of all ages get active in ways that feel fun, inclusive, and achievable. Whether it’s walking with neighbours, playing with grandchildren, or trying a new activity in the village, we believe movement should be joyful, accessible, and part of everyday life.
Active Lakenheath is part of, and overseen by, Lakenheath Parish Council and Active Suffolk in partnership with Sport England. Together, we’re exploring how small, test-and-learn activities can spark lasting change.
We are pleased to announce that Active Lakenheath has secured a Full Award from Sport England, bringing significant investment into our community through to 2028. This fantastic achievement recognises the strength of local partnerships and the work already taking place across the village. The funding will help create more opportunities for residents of all ages to be active, improve wellbeing, build social connections, and support a healthier, stronger Lakenheath for years to come. We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this journey and helped make this success possible.
